Facebook to seek verification by post for election ads

Facebook plans to send postcards in the US mail in order to verify the location of people requesting to buy adverts related to US election candidates. Katie Harbath, a director at Facebook, said at a conference that a postcard would be sent to the advertiser’s address with a code, which they would need to share to complete the booking. UK plans age verification for porn websites from 2018

People in the UK will have to prove they are 18 before being allowed to access pornography websites from next year, the government is to announce. Websites will be legally required to install age verification controls by April 2018 as part of a move to make the internet safer for children.
