Lewis Hamilton took pole position for the Malaysian Grand Prix as rival Sebastian Vettel suffered another blow to his title hopes. Two weeks after Hamilton opened a 28-point lead over the Ferrari driver with victory in Singapore as Vettel crashed out, the German will start last at Sepang. Lewis Hamilton set only fifth fastest time in final practice as his Mercedes team continued to struggle at the Malaysian Grand Prix. He was 0.659 seconds off the pace, set by Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen, with his title rival Sebastian Vettel second. Mercedes off pace in Malaysia as Grosjean crashes

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel set the pace in second practice at the Malaysian Grand Prix as title rival Lewis Hamilton struggled in his Mercedes. Vettel headed team-mate Kimi Raikkonen by 0.604 seconds with the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen third and fourth, and Hamilton sixth.
