Me by Meliá has announced its debut property in the Middle East with the launch of Me Dubai at the end of 2018. Designed by late architect, Zaha Hadid, Me Dubai is set to become a legacy hotel. It is the only hotel project where she personally designed all of the interiors and exteriors, showcasing her vision of ‘interconnectedness’. Hadid passed away in 2016. Analysis: Total belief, squad unity and late goals – who can stop Man City?

We saw Manchester City destroy plenty of teams earlier this season but they are now showing some of the other qualities you need to win titles. I won the Premier League six times with Manchester United between 1996 and 2003, and our ability to keep going right until the end of matches to score decisive late goals was a far bigger factor in that success than the attacking football we were renowned for. That was how our manager Sir Alex Ferguson viewed it, because it meant he had a team…

Silva strikes late as Man City win 13th league game in a row

Manchester City came from behind to win a record-equalling 13th Premier League match in a row with victory over stubborn West Ham at Etihad Stadium. Angelo Ogbonna’s header on the stroke of half-time put the lowly Hammers ahead, but Nicolas Otamendi responded with a predatory finish shortly after the break. David Silva won it for City, acrobatically converting a Kevin de Bruyne pass with seven minutes left. Victory meant Pep Guardiola’s side re-established their eight-point lead over Manchester United, who they play at Old Trafford next Sunday (16:30 GMT). They…

Harlequins 20-19 Saracens: Late Tim Visser try condemns Sarries to third straight Premiership defeat

Tim Visser’s try 90 seconds from time condemned Saracens to a third straight Premiership defeat as Harlequins hit back in a nail-biting thriller at the Stoop. The hosts were inspired by the superb Danny Care, whose individual brilliance created all three of his side’s tries. Visser pounced on Care’s brave cross-field kick for the winner after the England man had set up two earlier tries for Charlie Walker. James Lang kicked a penalty and conversion. Brad Barritt scored Saracens’ try, which Owen Farrell converted before adding four penalties. Fly-half Marcus…

Vincent Kompany happy Manchester City have acquired knack of scoring late goals

Vincent Kompany believes Manchester City have taken a leaf out of their arch rivals’ book and will never stop believing they can win games. City have maintained an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League with last-gasp 2-1 victories over Huddersfield and Southampton in their last two games, both late winners scored by Raheem Sterling. The Southampton goal came six minutes into stoppage time and sparked jubilant scenes at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening. Digging out maximum points in such circumstances was a hallmark of many of…

Wales beat Bosnia-Herzegovina in World Cup qualifier after late penalty save

Kayleigh Green scored Wales’ winner against Bosnia-Herzegovina but keeper Laura O’Sullivan’s late penalty save ensured victory for the visitors. Yeovil forward Green took advantage of poor defending to round keeper Almina Hodzix early in the second half. The hosts were awarded a penalty after Alma Kameric was fouled but O’Sullivan kept out Milena Nikolic’s spot-kick. Wales are top of Group 1 with 10 points from four games, four ahead of England, who play Kazakhstan on Tuesday. O’Sullivan was in fine form for Jayne Ludlow’s side, pulling off several good saves,…

Burnley 0-1 Arsenal: Late Alexis Sanchez penalty snatches three points for the Gunners

Alexis Sanchez converted a stoppage-time penalty as Arsenal snatched all three points in a 1-0 win at Burnley. Clarets defender James Tarkowski was penalised for his shove on Aaron Ramsey in the 91st minute and Sanchez made no mistake from the spot to clinch the Gunners just their second league win on the road this season. It was cruel on Burnley. Arsenal skipper Laurent Koscielny struck a controversial winner in time added on in the corresponding fixture last season and Sanchez’s late spot-kick sank Sean Dyche’s side at the Emirates…
