Sir Bruce Forsyth honoured with NTA award

The National Television Awards have renamed their entertainment prize in honour of the late Sir Bruce Forsyth. Sir Bruce, who died in August aged 89, was a frequent NTA nominee and received its special recognition award for services to entertainment in 2011. Shows like Saturday Night Takeaway and The Graham Norton Show are among those in contention for the inaugural Bruce Forsyth entertainment award. The Mayor of Port Stephens, in NSW’s Hunter region, has edged out Andrew Bolt and Mark Latham to win the top prize at the 2017 Ernie Awards, Australia’s annual awards for sexism. Emojis honoured in world celebration

New York’s Empire State Building will be lit up in yellow to mark a day that organisers hope will put a smile on millions of faces. It is one of several stunts planned for World Emoji Day, which celebrates the colourful symbols used in instant messages, on 17 July.
