The UK has seen an increase in visits from China, and is ready to welcome more visitors ahead of Chinese New Year. The UK saw strong growth from China during the first nine months of 2017, with spending up 48 per cent and visits up 33 per cent. VisitBritain is estimating full year figures of about 330,000 visits and spending of about £667 million. Times table check trialled ahead of rollout

Thousands of eight and nine-year-olds in England’s primary schools will take a new times tables check this spring. Some 7,250 pupils in 290 primaries, are expected to take part in the trials of the new multiplication check. UK holidaymakers are to be offered the chance to choose their sunbed before they have even left home. Thomas Cook’s trial scheme will allow customers to pay £22 to book a specific lounger in advance of their holiday.
