Liverpool host the runaway league leaders on Sunday afternoon, hoping to continue their excellent record against the Citizens and become the first team to win a domestic match against Pep Guardiola’s side in 2017-18.
City last claimed victory at Anfield in May 2003, securing a 2-1 win thanks to former Liverpool striker Nicolas Anelka’s late brace.
Milan Baros fired the Reds into the lead just before the hour mark, but Anelka levelled the tie from the penalty spot with 15 minutes remaining. Then as the game passed into injury time, the Frenchman struck a fine volley to secure all three points.
